How to move to a new apartment
Apartment moves have more moving parts than a house move: elevator reservations, loading dock windows, narrow hallways, parking restrictions. Here is how to handle them without turning move day into an all-day ordeal.
Book early, describe accurately
Book your Zoomy move as soon as you have confirmed dates. The scope you enter — number of rooms, number of boxes, furniture to move, floor, elevator or stair access, distance from parking — is what the crew is dispatched for and what the price reflects. Underestimating scope is the most common reason a move runs over. Be specific.
Reserve the elevator and loading dock
Most buildings require advance notice to reserve a freight elevator or loading dock window. Contact building management at both the origin and destination as soon as you have a move date. Many buildings limit move windows to weekday mornings. Check the rules before you pick your move slot — if the elevator is unavailable, the crew will use stairs, which adds time and may affect your booked scope.
What to pack before the crew arrives
Everything goes in a labeled box or wrapped and marked. The crew moves packed and labeled boxes, not loose items. Break down furniture that you specified would be disassembled before pickup — bed frames, dining tables, bookshelves. Set aside items going with you in a car or that should not be touched: medications, documents, electronics you are carrying yourself.

What happens at the destination
Meet the crew at the new apartment. Walk through which room each item goes in before unloading starts — redirecting a dresser from the bedroom to a guest room after it's inside costs time. If any access details at the destination differ from what you entered during booking, let the crew know when they arrive.
