How to prepare for a junk removal appointment

Junk removal is faster when the items are accessible and you know what's going. Here is what to do to make your appointment go smoothly.

Sort before they arrive

Go through the area before your appointment and separate what you want removed from what you are keeping. It is much faster to haul out a pre-sorted pile than to make decisions item by item while the crew waits. Put a piece of tape or a sticky note on anything you are not sure about, and make a final call the morning of.

Stage items near an exit if you can

Moving items to the garage, driveway, or just inside the front door speeds things up significantly. If items are in a basement, attic, or a room with narrow doorways, let the crew know during booking so the scope and time estimate are accurate.

What Zoomy can haul

Furniture, mattresses, appliances (disconnected), exercise equipment, general household junk, construction debris from a DIY project, and yard waste in bags or bundled. Electronics require a recycling fee in most markets — confirm during booking.

What Zoomy cannot haul

Hazardous materials: paint, solvents, pesticides, motor oil, batteries, asbestos, or biological waste. Items that cannot be legally transported by a private carrier. Anything you are not authorized to dispose of (for example, items from a rental property without the landlord's written permission).

Do I need to be home?

Yes. Someone needs to be present to direct the crew and confirm what goes. The crew will not remove items without the authorization of whoever is on-site.
