Moving day checklist
A well-prepared move takes less time and has fewer surprises. Here is what to do before your crew arrives.
The night before
Pack and label every box. Mark fragile items clearly. Disassemble any furniture you agreed would be broken down before pickup — bed frames, dining tables, large bookshelves. Locate and set aside any items the crew should not touch (medications, valuables, items going with you in the car).
The morning of your move
Clear a path from every room to the front door. Remove door stoppers and wedge doors open if possible. Move cars out of the driveway or parking area so the crew can get close to the entrance. Set aside any parking passes or elevator reservations you arranged for the building.
What the crew expects to find
Items that match the scope you described during booking — number of rooms, number of boxes, furniture pieces, access details. If the actual scope is significantly different from what was booked, the crew will confirm before proceeding. The price you agreed to covers what you described.
What to protect
Use blankets or moving pads for large mirrors, glass tabletops, and artwork. If you have items with sentimental value that are not replaceable, pack and transport them yourself. Zoomy carries standard liability coverage; high-value or irreplaceable items carry a risk no crew can fully offset.
At the destination
Meet the crew at the delivery address. Walk through which room each piece of furniture goes in before unloading starts — it is faster than redirecting pieces once they are inside. If you have stair or elevator details that differ from what you entered during booking, mention them when the crew arrives.
